Health Promotion/Education Targeting Migrant Farmworkers
Place: Two positions based on the Eastern Shore of Virginia (Accomack & Northampton Counties)
Time: May-August, 2007 (14 weeks)
Salary: $480/week
Requirements: Spanish/English proficiency, health promotion/education experience
Preferred: Spanish/English fluency, strong educational background in health promotion, experience/knowledge of Hispanic farm worker population, personal car.
Work description: Health promotion work targeting Spanish-speaking farmworkers on the migrant labor camps.
Work will be environmental health promotion (including sanitation, lead, and pesticide safety) targeting farmworkers in their homes, training and supervising lay health advisors, collecting information, program evaluation.
